Corb’s first of four Olympic Torch Relay performances draws ‘unbelievable’ crowd

Corb kicked off his first Olympic Torch Relay performance with a bang! As Edmonton Journal reports, "Tens of Thousands of people filled Westerner Park in Red Deer Friday night to watch torchbearer Ron Woodward light the Olympic cauldron on Day 78 of the Torch Relay. Kids climbed on their parents' shoulders to catch a glimpse of country musician Corb Lund. People who arrived later in the evening craned their necks to watch the stage events on huge screens because the crowd was so deep. The size of the audience astonished torchbearer Steve "It was unbelievable," said Banks, who is from Calgary. "I just tried to relax and enjoy myself."

Since Corb's Westerner Park performance he has played at the Canadian Badlands as well as the Taber Civic Center for the Olympic Torch events.
